Round Chisel for Viking Broad Axe

This chisel is forged, ground and heat treated from high quality S7 Tool Steel.  Together with the oval chisel it is used to help forge symmetrical axe eyes with seamless welds, as shown in the tutorial DVD "Forging a Viking-Age Broad Axe".  S7 Tool Steel will  hold a sharp edge at high heat which is important when match-cutting the eye-weld joint.  With care it will last through the forging of well over a hundred axes.

Cross Fuller for Viking Broad Axe

This specially designed Cross Fuller is forged, ground and heat treated from high quality S7 Tool Steel.  It is the main tool used in forming the eye of the axe, including its unique "langets", as shown in the tutorial DVD "Forging a Viking-Age Broad Axe".  S7 Tool Steel is an extremely tough and long-lasting material, and is perfectly suited to the heavy use that this fuller receives.  With care it will last through the forging of well over a hundred axes.  The Cross Fuller is provided with a 15" steel handle (not shown).
